Founded in 1964, Beckum-Stapleton Little League has been serving Milwaukee’s youth through sports for over 40 years.  According to founder James Beckum, a Negro League veteran, Beckum-Stapleton is the longest running league for African American youth in the United States.
Little League Baseball organizations have been using the game of baseball to help in producing good citizens for generations.  Ours is a program of leadership development, preparing today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders.  Some of Beckum-Stapleton’s alumni players who have gone on to take leadership in the public sphere include: Ald. Willie Hines, Ald. Willie Wade, and Milwaukee Public Schools board member Jeff Spence.
